Last Days, Justin Lin’s movie adapted by Ben Ripley from Alex’s 2019 article in Outside magazine, premiered at Sundance film festival in 2025, and is set to release in the US on October 24, 2025. See the trailer.
A six-part dramatisation of The Good Mothers, produced by House Productions and Wildside for Disney+, is streaming on Disney+ and Hulu. The series won Best Series at the Berlin Film Festival in February 2023. See the trailer.
The Volcano: Rescue from Whakaari, a Moxie Films documentary adaptation of Alex’s Outside Magazine story “The True Story of the White Island Eruption” released on Netflix on December 16, 2022. “Volcano” was Netflix’s No. 1 film in 23 countries, and made the top 10 in 76 countries, drawing an estimated audience of 52-87 million in 10 days.
